Community Guidelines

Olive IRL exists to help Christians who are serious about their faith find someone to build a lasting life with. These guidelines protect that purpose and everyone in it. Creating an account means you agree to these standards. We enforce them consistently, with no exceptions for serious violations.

1. Be genuine

Use your real name, real photos, and honest information about who you are. Your faith tradition, relationship intent, and profile details must reflect you accurately. Misrepresenting yourself undermines every person who came here in good faith.

  • No fake profiles or impersonating another person
  • Photos must be current, unaltered, and show only you
  • Faith information must reflect your actual practice, not what you think sounds good
  • You must be at least 18 years old

2. Treat everyone with dignity

Everyone on Olive IRL deserves to be treated with genuine respect, whatever their faith tradition, background, or how a conversation played out. Rejection is part of dating. How you handle it says a lot about who you are.

  • No harassment, threats, or abusive language
  • No hate speech targeting any faith, ethnicity, gender, or background
  • No unsolicited explicit content of any kind
  • No pressuring anyone to continue a conversation or meet up

3. Keep your intentions honest

Everyone on Olive IRL is here for serious, faith-grounded relationships. If that's not what you're looking for right now, this probably isn't the right app for you, and that's okay.

  • Do not use Olive IRL for casual or hookup-style interactions
  • Do not waste anyone's time by engaging with no intention of pursuing a real connection
  • Be direct and kind when a connection isn't right. Ghosting isn't neutral, it's disrespectful of someone's time

4. Stay on the platform

Do not use Olive IRL to promote outside services, solicit money, or drive people away from the app for commercial purposes.

  • No spam, promotional messages, or solicitation of any kind
  • No requesting money, gifts, or financial information from matches
  • No linking to third-party services for commercial gain

5. Protect the community

If you see something that violates these guidelines, report it. Every report is reviewed by our team. We take action on verified violations, including permanent bans for serious or repeated offenses.

To report a profile or message, tap the menu on any profile card or inside a conversation and select Report.

Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in:

  • A warning
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent removal from Olive IRL

We do not debate enforcement decisions for serious violations, including:

  • Harassment or threats
  • Hate speech
  • Explicit or non-consensual content
  • Fraud or financial solicitation
